A calm, minimal identity for a mindfulness and meditation studio.

Zen approached us to build a visual identity that felt as quiet as the practice it represents. Rather than lean on typical wellness clichés — soft gradients, generic lotus icons — we stripped the palette down to warm neutrals and soft greys, letting typography and negative space do the emotional work. Every decision was tested against a single question: does this feel like an exhale? The result is a system that stays legible and calm across formats, from a phone screen to a studio wall.
The logomark is built from a single continuous line, symbolizing breath and balance, and it was refined through dozens of iterations until the stroke weight felt effortless rather than engineered. It scales cleanly from a tiny app icon to large-format signage without losing its softness, and it holds up equally well in black, white, or the brand's signature warm grey. We also built a set of usage rules so the mark is never distorted, cropped awkwardly, or placed on a busy background.
Packaging and print materials extend the same restraint — uncoated paper stock, subtle embossing instead of loud foil, and a muted color story that never competes with the product inside. We deliberately avoided glossy finishes and bright accent colors, since the goal was for the packaging to feel like part of the ritual rather than a marketing moment. Even the tissue paper and thank-you cards follow the same typographic rules as the primary identity.
The result is a brand that feels less like a company and more like a moment of quiet — consistent across studio walls, social posts, and product boxes. Staff have reported that the system is easy to apply themselves, since every asset comes with clear guidelines and pre-built templates. Six months in, the identity has required almost no exceptions or one-off requests, which was one of the original goals of the project.
